Kissinger: West should take into account Russia’s interests in Ukraine
Former US Secretary of State Kissinger said that the West should take into account Russia’s interests in Ukraine.
We should not forget about Russia, it is necessary to «find a place» for Moscow after the completion of the special operation in Ukraine. This opinion was shared by former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, RIA Novosti reports.
«The question now is how to end the conflict in Ukraine. After its completion, it is necessary to find a place for Ukraine, as well as for Russia, if we do not want the Russian Federation to become an outpost of China in Europe», the diplomat said in an interview with The Sunday Times.
According to the former US Secretary of State, NATO members united over the conflict in Ukraine because it «reminded them of old ‘threats’.»
The American diplomat also suggests not to forget that not all «components of the North Atlantic Alliance necessarily have the same views», and «big questions» will remain in the relations of the Middle East and Asia with Europe and America.
Kissinger added that relations between Asian states and NATO could take a leading place among the main issues of international politics, in this regard, the former secretary of state gave advice not to concentrate only on internal alliances, but to act taking into account all prospects.
